Ron Paul New Front Runner

According to the Voter's values summit Straw Poll held on Saturday, Ron Paul was hailed the victor. Paul secured the victory at 23% of the vote. which is a whopping lead over former front runner Newt Gingrachs 14% W.Mitt Romney received 20% which firmly establishes his second place standing, and possibly the only thing we can be sure that he's actually been consistent about.
This win comes after a weekend of reports from news organizations, and a countless amount of bloggers expressing how horribly they thought Paul performed at Thursday nights debate. Even after the results have been released, doubts toward the legitimacy of the poll have been aired.
Unlikely Voter’s Neil Stevens is stated as saying “Do we really think a horde of Independents who hate the Republican Party will show up at the last minute, register Republican, and caucus for hours with Republicans? I don’t buy it, and neither should Iowa Republicans.”
Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey has also expressed doubts “There is no doubt that Paul was picking up some momentum in this race, but the PPP poll seems way too problematic for any conclusions about its current state.”
Whether You love him or hate him, this eccentric 76 year old Texas congressman is now soaring. And it should to be of no surprise his speeches are received by packed halls of people screaming his name as if he were a rock star. His Strategy in Iowa was well organized, and hit hard. Whether it be the reception of Paul to the Iowans, or the smear campaign he lead against Gingrich the week before the debate, or maybe a fine mix of both. But I think it goes a little deeper than that. When asked which candidate held the strongest principles Newt Gingrich polled at 36% and Ron Paul Polled at 73%
Many critics are quick to say that this is one poll and that Iowa is essentially useless when it comes to the eventual outcome of the primary. And that this entire process has been a Round Robin when it comes to who is the front runner. So the next couple of weeks will be telling. Will it be Ron Paul all the way? Will we see Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman get their day in the sun? Or will W. Mitt Romney be the inevitable nominee?
