Lincoln Presidential Library Decides to discontinue sales of John Wilkes Booth Bobble Head Dolls
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield Illinois announces it will no longer be selling The John Wilkes Booth bobble head dolls according to Museum spokesperson Dave Blanchette.
The decision came after the Gettysburg National Military Park pulled the dolls from its stores earlier this week. Blanchette told the Chicago Tribune that even though the museum’s administrators had not received any complaints about the dolls that they agreed that they were in bad taste and not appropriate for sale. He went on to say that they took a hard look at having these items for sale. The dolls with Booth holding a handgun were removed from the Shelves of the Gettysburg shop on Saturday.
The Booth Dolls, Which are about 7 inches tall and are packaged in boxes that look like the inside of the theater which Lincoln was killed in. The Dolls were sold online for $20.00 each. The Doll is oddly popular having already sold 150 of the 250 that had been made. According to Sales Manger or BobbleHead LLC Matt Powers more of the doll will be made at the Kansas City, Mo. Plant. The company sells dolls of many controversial figures, for example Kim Jong-il Powers went on to say “There’s a market out there, We like to let the customer decide if it’s a good item or not.”
The Man Who Cried Wolf
Tony Gladstone was going to bed the other night when he realized that some people had broken into his shed and began stealing things. Gladstone phoned the police and was told that there was no one in the area to help, and they would send someone over as soon as possible.
Gladstone hung up. A minute later he called again. “Hello,” he says “I called you a minute ago because there were people in my shed. You don’t have to hurry now, because I’ve shot them.”
Within moments there were 6 police cars in the area, accompanied by helicopters and an armed response unit. The police response time was so immediate that they were able to catch the burglars in the act.
An officer on the scene says to Gladstone “I thought you said you’d shot them.”
To which Gladstone replied: “I thought you said there was no one available.”
I Hid The Body… Now What?
An Arkansas Teen thought for a laugh she would send a random text that she “hid the body…Now what?” And out of the approximately ½ million phone numbers in the 479 area code she blindly sends the message to detective Keith Foster.
Police used an emergency phone tracer to track down her cellphone number.
Unsure if the message was a prank or legitimate detective Foster launched an investigation. The police realized it was a prank after having questioned the teen and her father. She said that she had gotten the idea for the prank from a posting on Pinterest. According to reports she was released with a warning.
All Sales Are Final
According to the Daily Commercial Todd Pomerleau 32, of Leesburg and co-owner of a Fruitland Park rent-to-own store is accused of pointing a gun in the direction of a customer.
On March 2nd Pomerleau, who had just returned from lunch told the customer that he wasn’t going to do anything about a loveseat and sofa she had rented that apparently had bedbugs. When the customer decided she was going to leave Pomerlau put a gun in her face and told her that she was going nowhere. According to the affidavit Pomerleau’s mother, Joann stepped in front of her son and let the customer leave to call the police.
Bieber Mania
According to reports, Denver police officer Michael Nuanes, Jr. was injured when his girlfriend attacked him in during a domestic dispute with a Justin Bieber Doll.
Nuanes demanded she leave after he broke up with her. She locked herself in the bathroom and refused to come out. She claims that he knocked down the door, pulled her by the hair and punched her in the ribs. That’s when the victim threw the doll at him.
Nuanes claims that his girlfriend hurled a “Barbie Doll” at him which bruised his foot and that “it hurt,” Nuanes, was arrested on Domestic violence-related charges.
